Osmar Prado vive um ator que vive Getúlio, uma peça dentro da peça, que mistura ficção e realidade.
“Só que em 2001 surgiu a ideia de realizar De Getúlio a Getúlio, onde se discutia o mito Getúlio, levando a história até o seu suicídio. A ideia inicial era: um ator doente psicótico volta ao palco para representar Getulio.
Dramaticamente, a ideia era colocar esse ator decadente se envolvendo além da conta com o personagem Getúlio. Ela acaba sendo Getúlio e, na cena de suicídio de seu personagem, ele se suicida de verdade.” – Sergio Britto – Trecho do livro “O Teatro & Eu”.
